Basement Interior

Mike, my general contractor, sent me these photos last night. The concrete slab was poured last Wednesday and the first two images are of the floor, taken a couple of days ago.

Since the previous pictures were taken, Mike and his crew have been framing the rooms in the basement. The picture below is from the bedroom, looking through the door to the space below the kitchen. The door to the far right is to the Mechanical Room, and the door next to it is to the Wine Cellar below the front porch. All of the basement doors except at the Laundry Room are from the main floor, from walls that have been removed and a couple of openings that will not have doors anymore. Ceilings are just under 9 feet.
The following shot is from the Mechanical Room looking out to the room under the Kitchen, a mini Great Room. It will have a kitchenette and be the living space for the basement suite.
Below is looking into the Bath/ Laundry Room, under the main floor Bathroom. You can see the boarded over window on the back wall that will look out toward the Confederation Trail.
One of Mike's crew in the "Great Room". From left, the doors are to the Wine Cellar, Mechanical Room and Bedroom.
The door to the Bedroom. I made a last minute change to the plan yesterday. The door to the far right was going to be the entrance to the Bedroom, but I decided to move it to enter straight ahead, and the opening to the right will be filled in. Beyond it will now be a walk-in closet for the bedroom.
And this is the landing at the back porch. Stairs will go up to the main floor at left, and will wind down to the basement at the bottom of the shot. If you look close you can see the pencil marks on the lower platform denoting the locations of the winders.
Mike told me there is about a foot of snow there now but it is suppose to rain today, so hopefully some of that will wash away. Next steps will be to build the stairs, enclose the back porch, and wiring can begin. I believe that the windows and skylights will be installed very soon.
