This Year's Trip Home

We landed on the Island about 6pm on Wednesday August 6th. We flew into Charlottetown and Mom and Dad picked us up at the airport. After getting caught up on all the news, we looked at the work that the contractor had just completed, just a couple of days before we arrived.
Although the chandelier and ceiling medallion were installed last year, this is the first time I saw them. The picture rail and baseboard were added in the couple of weeks before we arrived. Looking close to finished!
I also had never seen the shelves above the kitchen cabinets before. Dad and I painted them last summer before they were installed.

The first thing I did the morning after we arrived was to hang the big canvas photo above the doorway. Turned out to be quite the conversation piece.

David and I painted the upstairs bedrooms in the first couple of days we were there. They were drywalled the previous week, and we wanted to get at least the ceilings and walls painted before Dolly and Sue arrived. Pictures of the rooms to follow.

On Saturday the 10th Dolly and Sue arrived. this was the third time Dolly has come to the house, and she brought her great friend Sue along too. The following day we explored the south-east tip of the Island.
We went to the Cape Bear Lighthouse and took the tour
 HELLO DOLLY

 Dolly and Sue

Then on to Rosignol Winery where we did some tasting and shopping. Good wines!
 Little Sands Church
 Wood Islands Lighthouse

We drove around all day and ended up in Montague to grab some groceries. A good first day for Sue and Dolly. Lots more to come.
