Mary Ann

Mary Ann was my grandmother's mother. She took care of George Lowe in his old age and lived in the house with him, after her husband's death. George left the house to Mary Ann after his death in 1948. The following is a bit of information about Mary Ann and a selection of photos that I have of her.
She was born a MacDonald in Lyndale in 1878. Her husband was James Bull (February 14, 1844-March, 1943) of Abney, then called Toronto. They had 12 children, Clara, Jemima, Freeman, Alex, Katie Bell, Jane Evelyn, Myrtle, Lewis, Walter, Eileen and Parker. James however was married before Mary Ann, to her sister Christena, who died in 1902. They had two children, Maria and Albert. The photo above is Maria (the "i" is pronounced "eye") seated, and Mary Ann. This is the earliest photo I have of Mary Ann.

Thelda, Myrtle's daughter, and Ola with Mary Ann at the old place in Hopefield.
From left at the back: Mary Ann, Ira and Sarah Kathryn (Grampy's parents), Bruce Porter, Myrtle, Jim Munn, Clara and Grammy.
In front: Carl, Ola, Sylvia, Thelda, and I'm not sure who the last little girl is. This was taken in Hopefield.
4 generations: Mary Ann, Clara, and somebody tell me who the woman and child are. That's not Evelyn is it?

I think this is in Hopefield

This might be Grammy and Grampy's backyard either on Kent Street or Upper Queen in Charlottetown.
Clara Buell gave me this photo. She took Mary Ann to have this portrait taken.
Two of my great-grandmothers, who were cousins to each other. Sarah Kathryn (MacDonald) Munn and Mary Ann (MacDonald) Buell, taken in Hopefield.

Mary Ann passed away on January 23, 1961, 50 years ago last week.
