Dan Munn Sideboard

Lois stopped by the house last night and took these pictures. Dad finished refinishing the sideboard and got it put back together again. It was built by Dan Munn (1852-1911). In 1940, Ira Munn's house burned to the ground. Ira (1885-1947) was Dan's son. Anyway, the only piece of furniture saved from the blaze was this sideboard. After the fire, Ira and his wife Sarah Kathryn moved in with my grandparents, and the sideboard went with them. It was always in the dining room at the River for as long as I can remember, and probably much longer, except for a number of years that Dad's sister Ola had it, after Grammy died. I remember that Grampy stripped it and got it partially refinished in the couple of years before he died. The project wasn't quite finished so Dad completely did it over. Beautiful job.
Mom has been busy too. She painted the bathroom floor, and they refinished and painted the bathroom door as well.
They plan on priming the ceiling and walls in the Living Room, paint the ceiling in there, and refinish the rest of the interior doors in the next few weeks. The foundation will be parged with stucco starting Friday, and hopefully I'll have gutters and downspouts soon.

Thanks once again for keeping me up to date Lois! You don't know how  much I appreciate it.
